That was one of the most poorly written recipes I have ever read. At least learn a couple of cooking terms. I still don’t know what to do with 4 cups of oil, or why I would freezer burn my steak intentionally.

You need to answer the numerous inquiries about the 4 cups of oil not mentioned in the recipe. Also, do you “fry” the steak without thawing or thaw is before frying?

2 1/2 Hr Cooking a Steak is not my cup of Tea , Why not Sear it And put it in a crock Pot , i will stick to my Rib Eye , Tenderloin , and Porter House The way i cook them a lot shorter time and melt in your mouth meat , and go to the Butcher and get a good Cut of meat.

I followed this up by actually looking at the BOB APPETIT website where this recipe originated. There’s a much simpler explanation of the process AND a video showing how it is done as well as the final result. Here are those two links, if you care to follow up as well: http://www.bonappetit.com/test-kitchen/how-to/article/clap-steak-ideas-in-food and then as to the video: http://www.bonappetit.com/test-kitchen/how-to/article/how-to-cook-porterhouse-steak-video I’m not sure that I will be trying the recipe, but the results did look wonderful even if the method to get there is unorthodox!
