I only eat rare rib, tender loin , just rare to,
Hilarious and so true!
Did I read that correctly – 4 cups of oil???
Why 4cups of oil. Where do you use it in the recipe. Maybe 4T oil
this has to be a joke
Perfect lol
Anybody who makes “1/4 cuts about 1″ apart” in a porterhouse, should be banished from the kitchen!
Who can afford 3 lb steak in the first place.
10 minutes on the grill is delish, this seems to time consuming to me.
way,way, wayyyyyyyy too much trouble!!!!!!
oooooooooooooooooooh yum!
No need for the fowl language.
yuck…i like rare
Too much trouble makes my head ache
If I have to go thru that to cook a steak, I’ll become a vegetarian.
What the hell u have to take out a loan just to make a steak n three cups of oil r u wanting a heart attack to happen wow this is stupid
Oh hell im sorry 4 cups of oil
Way to much work!!! No way dumb
Haha
That was one of the most poorly written recipes I have ever read. At least learn a couple of cooking terms. I still don’t know what to do with 4 cups of oil, or why I would freezer burn my steak intentionally.
it blew your mind? it’s more likely to blow your arteries.
What?? Takes 2 days to make a steak!! Are you nuts??
You need to answer the numerous inquiries about the 4 cups of oil not mentioned in the recipe. Also, do you “fry” the steak without thawing or thaw is before frying?
Now your fuc_in talkin lol
Dude no friggen way
Looks like it was dropped on the floor.
too much trouble

2 1/2 Hr Cooking a Steak is not my cup of Tea , Why not Sear it And put it in a crock Pot , i will stick to my Rib Eye , Tenderloin , and Porter House The way i cook them a lot shorter time and melt in your mouth meat , and go to the Butcher and get a good Cut of meat.
Not a recipe I will be trying, lost me at the oil and cooking time. NO way!!
This is way too time consuming.
lol
Too many steps
Well-Medium,Please!

Link doesn’t work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i would like this page, but i don’t like having to go through 3 pages to get to the recipe. that’s redicules.
I followed this up by actually looking at the BOB APPETIT website where this recipe originated. There’s a much simpler explanation of the process AND a video showing how it is done as well as the final result. Here are those two links, if you care to follow up as well: http://www.bonappetit.com/test-kitchen/how-to/article/clap-steak-ideas-in-food and then as to the video: http://www.bonappetit.com/test-kitchen/how-to/article/how-to-cook-porterhouse-steak-video I’m not sure that I will be trying the recipe, but the results did look wonderful even if the method to get there is unorthodox!
