Do you like country? Do you like gravy? Country gravy + chicken fried steak + over medium eggs = one of the best breakfast creations you can enjoy.
You are going to love this all-American classic!
Let's Get Started…
Things You Will Need:
6 (4-oz.) cubed steaks (1 1/2 lb.)1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon pepper1/4 cup all-purpose flour1/2 cup egg substitute45 saltine crackers, crushed (1 sleeve plus 7 crackers)Vegetable cooking spray
How To Prepare:
To start, season cubed steaks generously with salt and pepper. Next, you'll want to dredge steaks in flour, then dip in egg substitute, and finish with a dredge in crushed crackers and then coat with cooking spray.
- Next, you'll want to cook the steaks. Do this in batches so as not to crowd the pan. Place steak in nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook on both sides for about 4 minutes each, turning twice. Let steaks rest on wire rack, before transferring to a jelly-roll pan. You can keep the steaks warm in the oven while you prepare the rest of the meal, like the cream gravy, eggs, and hash browns.
Note: This meal can be enjoyed for breakfast or dinner. The sides that you serve it with really determines this. I prefer my chicken fried steak with country gravy, over medium eggs, and crispy hash brows. Or, if you enjoy for dinner I suggest serving with mashed potatoes and green beans.
