This Isn’t An Ordinary Chicken Cordon Bleu Recipe We Made It a Bit Different

This amazing Chicken Corn Bleu casserole makes enough for six servings but if you want plenty leftovers to enjoy again the next day, you can always double the ingredients.

This recipe uses both the classic Swiss cheese and  Monterey Jack cheese to give it some extra flavor and plenty of the cheesiness we know you will love.

It takes fifteen minutes to prepare and about twenty-five to thirty minutes to bake!

Let's Get Started…

The Ingredients To Gather:

  • 6 tablespoons salted butter
  • 2 cups small-cubed ham
  • 1 1/4 cups grated Swiss cheese
  • 1 1/4 cups grated Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 cooked boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Mix together the Swiss and Monterey Jack cheese in a bowl.

  3. Put about a third of chicken in a layer in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Top with

  4. half the ham. Sprinkle over 1/4 cup of the mixed cheese. Repeat 1 more time, then finish with a layer of chicken.

  5. Melt the remaining 5 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium heat. Put the panko in a bowl, pour in half of the melted butter, mix well and set aside.

The Rest Of The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

6. Add the flour to the rest of the butter and stir for a few minutes.
7. Mix in the milk, broth, Dijon, and cayenne and stir until it becomes thick.
8. After that is thick then add in 1 cup of cheese.
9. Pour over the entire casserole.
10. Bake the casserole in the oven for thirty minutes.
