This Marinated & Braised Brisket Is For Grown Ups Only – We’ve Kicked Up The Recipe A Bit

This recipe serves six but if you want leftovers or are making it for a get together, you can double or triple the ingredients to have plenty of brisket to go around. It is important to check on your brisket half way through to make sure you get the juicy and tender brisket that will just melt in your mouth.

Ingredients To Gather:

  • 2 lb first cut brisket
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups onion
  • 1 cup carrots
  • 1 cup celery
  • 5 oz package radishes
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 5 sprigs fresh thyme
  • salt and pepper

Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. In ovenproof skillet over medium high heat, add olive oil. Season brisket, sear the meat.

  2. Add the onion, carrots, celery, and radishes to the pan. Turn the heat to medium and saute for 5 minutes

  3. Deglaze the pan by adding beef stock and red wine, Add the bay leaf and thyme, add the brisket back to the pot. Bring the liquid to a boil, cover with a lid, place in oven for an hour.

  4. After an hour, Flip it over and let it continue to cook.

  5. Remove the brisket from the pot, let rest for 10 minutes. Strain out all the vegetable chunks, and serve with the brisket.
