This incredible casserole makes enough for twelve servings but you can always cut it in half if you don't need quite so much. You can use any kind of pasta or cheese combination that you prefer to really make it your own.
It takes only about fifteen minutes to prepare and twenty to twenty-five minutes to bake but it is sure to make your mouth water long before it's ready to enjoy!

The Ingredients To Gather:
- 3/4 pounds Italian Sausage
- 3/4 pounds Ground Beef
- 1/2 cup Oats
- 1 cup Grated Parmesan
- 1 whole Egg,
- 1/4 cup Parsley
- Salt And Pepper
- 1 Onion
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1 can Diced Tomatoes
- 1 can Tomato Paste
- 1 Tablespoon Sugar
- 2 cups Hot Water
- 12 leaves Basil
- 12 ounces Ziti Pasta
- 16 ounces Mozzarella
The Step By Step Directions To Follow:
- Mix sausage, beef, oats, 1/2 of Parmesan, egg, half parsley, salt, pepper until combined. Form into small meatballs, brown in batches in skillet over medium heat. Remove meatballs from pan, drain.
- Add onions, garlic, cook for 3 – 4 minutes, stir. Add tomatoes with juice, tomato paste, salt , pepper, sugar, water. Stir, simmer, add meatballs, continue simmering 20 minutes. Remove from heat, cool.
The Additional Step By Step Directions To Follow:
- In your casserole dish, add some of the pasta, some of the mozzarella cheese cubes, and about 1/4 cup Parmesan, and some of the sauce. Repeat this process with the rest of the ingredients putting the sauce over top. Cover your dish with some foil and then bake at 350 for twenty-five minutes.
