Most of my friends think this recipe is perfect as it is, but I like to add a couple tablespoons of cinnamon. I have this thing for cinnamon that my family has learned to love. If this sounds up your alley too, coat the apples with one or two tablespoons of cinnamon before you set them in the crust.
Let’s Get Started….
Ingredients To Gather:
1 recipe pastry for a 9-inch double crust pie
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup water 8 Granny Smith apples – peeled, cored and sliced
Step-By-Step Directions To Follow:
In a small sauce pan, stir butter on medium heat until melted. Stir in flour, then add brown and white sugar and water, stirring until there are no lumps. Bring to a boil, then reduce temperature and simmer.
Place bottom crust in pie pan and place apples in the pan.
Pour sauce into the pan, covering the apples, but taking care not to spill over the sides.
Lattice top crust onto pie.
Cover edges of crust with foil.
Bake at 425 degrees F for 15 minutes, then reduce to 350. Bake for 20 minutes then remove foil and bake another 15 to 20 minutes.
Finished!
Really, You Can’t Go Wrong With Apple Pie, But How Can You Resist The Perfect Recipe?
Happy Baking & Enjoy!

Looks yummy
The only reason I looked at the recipe is because of the topping on pie in the picture! Guess what? No topping the recipe says lattice crust!!! Why? It probably isn’t even the same pie.
