Here's everything you need for this sirloin tip and vegetable recipe. Many stores sell pre-cut sirloin tips, but you can also ask your butcher to cut a steak into small pieces.
Let's Get Started…
Ingredients To Gather:
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 pound sirloin tips
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 large Vidalia or other sweet onion, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 green bell pepper, seeded and cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 red bell pepper, seeded and cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
- 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons water, divided
- 2 teaspoons tomato, basil, and garlic seasoning blend (such as Mrs. Dash)
Directions To Follow:
- Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over high heat. Sprinkle sirloin tips with 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper. Add beef to pan, and cook 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently, or until desired degree of doneness. Remove beef from pan; set aside, and keep warm.
Next, turn the heat down to medium-high, and then saute the onion and peppers for 3 minutes before adding 1 tbsp. of water and cooking another minute. Add the beef and the seasoning blend and 1/4 tsp. salt, followed by 1/4 cup water. Bring the entire mixture to a boil, in the meantime scraping any browned bits of it from the bottom of the pan. Cook for another minute, stirring the entire time.
And you're done! To make this dish even more satisfying, serve it with hot white rice, or maybe with some hearty mashed potatoes. This recipe requires just 5 minutes of prep time and 10 minutes of cooking time, which has made it our go-to dish for when we're in a rush!
