This Restaurant-Caferteria Is An Exact Replica Of The Netflix Series “Orange Is The New Black”

While the event was a big hit, not everyone was happy about it. In fact, one of the most vocal critics was the woman behind the TV show:

The event was sold out and all over social media, with many Instagramming themselves in prison jumpsuits, eating off trays, and taking funny mug shot photos. However, it was met with criticism from OITNB author Piper Kerman, who thought this was actually degrading and mocking the real-life experiences of prisoners. As opposed to other pop culture-inspired pop-up eateries, this one might have hit too close to home.

Would You Ever Dine Here? 

Well, this pop-up restaurant certainly sounds like an interesting idea, but the people planning it clearly didn't think about the potential backlash. Maybe the controversy will spark a discussion about the conditions prisoners face, and let's face it, a little healthy debate is never a bad thing.
