Even if it's not Taco Tuesday, this Mexican style meat recipe is the perfect way to add lots of bold flavor without having to slave in the kitchen for the entire day.
Things You Will Need:
-
4 lb. pork
-
1 tsp. salt
-
1 tsp. pepper, black, ground
-
2 T. olive oil
-
1 onion, large, chopped
-
1 1/4 c. green chile, diced
-
1 tsp. chili powder
-
1 tsp. pepper, cayenne, ground
-
5 oz. sauce, hot pepper
-
1 tsp. garlic powder
How To Prepare:
-
Brown your meat on all sides by searing in a pan over stove top at medium to high heat. Be sure to place some oil in the pan so your meat doesn't stick.
-
Then place your meat in your crock pot and top it with onion, chili peppers, chili powder, cayenne pepper, hot sauce and garlic powder. Depending on how spicy you like it, you might want to adjust your portions accordingly.
-
Pour enough water in your crock pot to cover about 1/3 of your roast. Then cover and cook on high for six hours. Make sure that there is always a small amount of liquid in the crock pot at all times.
-
After the six hour mark you'll want to turn your cooker down to low and continue cooking for an additional 3 hours or so. The meat is ready when you're able to pull apart with a fork.
-
Shred meat with fork and enjoy.
Finished!
Note: You can use this meat to make amazing tacos for Taco Tuesday, or you can even use it for burritos, taco salad, you name it!
Happy Baking & Enjoy!
