WARNING: This Isn’t Your Regular Baked Ziti Recipe- We’ve Taken This Classic Pasta Dish To Another Level

You can use Ziti noodles for the recipe or just any noodles that you have on hand. You can also use any combination of cheese and meat that you prefer as long as it is very cheesy.

It takes fifteen minutes to prepare and about forty-five minutes to cook so you won't have to wait very long to enjoy that first amazing bite.

Let's Get Started!

The Ingredients To Gather:

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1  Onion
  • 1 pound Italian Sausage
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 can  Whole Tomatoes
  • 2 cans  Tomato Sauce Or Marinara Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • 16 ounces, Ziti Or Mostaciolli
  • 1 tub  Ricotta Cheese
  • 1-1/2 pound Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/2 cup  Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 whole Egg
  • Parsley

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions, garlic,  saute for several minutes.
  2. Add Italian sausage, ground beef, cook until browned. Drain off fat. Add tomatoes, tomato juice, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes.
  3. Stir, simmer 25 to 30 minutes. Remove 3 to 4 cups of the sauce to different bowl to cool.
  4. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  5. Mix  ricotta cheese, 2 cups of  mozzarella, Parmesan, egg,  salt, pepper. Stir together a couple  times.
  6. Drain pasta, rinse under cool water to stop the cooking.
  7. Pour it into  bowl with  cheese mixture, toss to slightly combine.
  8. Add  meat sauce, toss to combine.
  9. Add half the pasta to dish.
  10. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven, let stand 5 minutes before serving.

    I wish I could find low salt cheese to make my Ziti.
