We Found A Mouth Watering Chocolate Marshmallow Cake Recipe Inspired by Hostess Cupcakes!!!

One can hardly wait to feast on this Hostess inspired chocolate marshmallow cake, but we're going to need a few things to get us started.

Ingredients To Gather: 

  • 2 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup (100 g) Dutch-processed cocoa powder

  • 1 1/2 cups (300 g) white granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup (110 g) dark brown sugar

  • 1 3/4 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1/4 cup canola oil

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee

  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Filling To Make: 

  • 1/2 cup (115 g or 1 stick) salted butter, at room temperature

  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla paste

  • 7 oz (1 tub) store-bought marshmallow cream

Frosting To Glaze Over: 

  • 2 cups (230 g) powered sugar, sifted

  • 2 teaspoon light corn syrup

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 cup whole milk

  • 3 oz dark bittersweet chocolate (~60% cacao preferred)

White Squiggle Icing: 

  • 1 cup (115 g) powdered sugar, sifted

  • 2 teaspoon whole milk

  • 2 teaspoon light corn syrup

Special Equipment To Gather:

  • Tube pan

  • Sharp serrated knife

  • Quart freezer Ziplok bag

Ok! Let's get started!

First, combine your flour, cocoa powder, sugars, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl and use a whisk and stir until fully blended. Next your going to want to put the eggs, buttermilk and oil in another bowl and mix with a fork. Do the same thing with the water, coffee and vanilla extract but in a separate measuring cup.

Next, create a cavity in the center of the dry ingredients and pour buttermilk into the center, including the hot coffee mix. Fold together until your cake batter is formed and then pour into a baking pan. Place in the oven and bake for 50-55 minutes. Let cake cook 3 hours or overnight.

When your cake has cooled make the marshmallow filling. To do this place the butter and vanilla in a bowl and mixing till creamy. Then add the marshmallow cream and blend well.

Next your going to want to cut rectangles in your cooled cake and carefully lift them out.  this is where your going to put your marshmallow filling. Next, replace the rectangles and put your chocolate frosting on to mask the scars and top off with the white doodle frosting. Now you can enjoy this heavenly treat!
