Many of us have a favorite celebrity chef that we look to for cooking advice and the absolute best recipes of all kinds. Some of them have popular cooking shows on major TV networks, while others are known for their comprehensive and authoritative cook books. We all know what they recommend in their shows and books, but we sometimes wonder what the dinner table looks like in their own homes.
Wouldn't it be amazing to get a peek into how the world's most famous chefs eat when they're cooking just for themselves?
Well, we recently did, when several well-known celebrity chefs disclosed their favorite method for cooking pork chops. We have to admit, we were a little surprised, because some of them prefer incredibly simple methods that don't require one to be an expert chef! We assumed that with their culinary expertise, they'd cook a five-star gourmet meal every night, but some of them actually prefer to keep it simple.
Ree Drummond: Pan Fried
The Pioneer Woman just might be the queen of recipes that are both easy and comforting, and her pan-fried pork chop recipe definitely qualifies. You only need a few basics (flour, salt, pepper, cayenne, canola oil, and butter) to make a crispy, juicy pork chop.
Alton Brown: Molasses and Coffee Glazed
You might need to make a special trip to the store for Alton Brown's molasses and coffee pork chops, but it's totally worth it. Commenters have mentioned they love the teriyaki-like marinade so much that they use it on chicken, too. If you have a little extra time on your hands (to marinate the meat for at least two hours), your taste buds will be rewarded.
Giada De Laurentiis prefers parmesan crusted pork chops with Italian bread crumbs, while Sunny Anderson opts or grilled pork chops that have been marinated honey, oil, apple cider vinegar, and cumin. Finally, Tyler Florence likes smothered pork chops that use a creamy gravy made by deglazing the pan with chicken broth and buttermilk.
All of these choices sound delectable, and if these respected and well-known chefs like them they must be good! We can't wait to try all of them…as soon as we decide which one to make first.
