We Used This Unexpected Ingredient To Take These Cheesy Biscuits To The Next Level!

Here's everything you need for this flavor-filled treat. We recommend making two batches, because as yummy as these taste they won't last long!

Ingredients To Gather:

  • 2 1/2 cups (10 oz.) freshly shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons half-and-half
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh basil

Instructions To Follow:

Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Next, combine the cheddar cheese, butter, half and half, and salt. Mix at medium speed with a mixer. When that's blended, slowly add the flour, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, and basil. Mix the entire mixture. Next, coat a surface with flour and lay the dough on it. Divide the dough into four sections. Then, roll the dough until it's 1/8-inch thick. Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut the dough into pieces. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay the stars on the sheet, keeping an inch between them. Finally, bake until the stars are golden brown; this usually takes between 11 and 14 minutes. Cool half an hour before serving.

We like this recipe because there's just so much you can do with it! Make a couple of batches and set them out on the appetizer tray at your next party. Or, keep some on hand for a snack the kids will love. These biscuits look like a treat but aren't loaded with sugar, making them the ideal alternative for little ones who like snacks that are not only yummy but also fun to eat!
