TUCSON, Ariz. (KSAZ) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say officers arrested two women after they attempted to smuggle drugs across the Mexico-Arizona border.
On Saturday, May 20 at the Port of Nogales, officers referred a 23-year-old Nogales, Arizona woman for further inspection after crossing the Morley Pedestrian Gate. She claimed to have a bag of burritos, but officers determined the packages were more than one pound of meth. The drugs are worth over $3,000.
Officers seized the vehicles and drugs. The individuals were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security investigations. Their names were not released.
