Here's everything you need for this rich and creamy Salisbury steak with mushroom gravy. You need 35 minutes total time for this recipe.
Ingredients To Gather:
1 pound ground beef
1 egg
3 tablespoons crushed buttery round cracker crumbs
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
2 (4 ounce) cans sliced mushrooms with juice
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 cups milk
3 cubes beef bouillon
Directions To Follow:
- Start by combining the ground beef, egg, cracker crumbs, onion, salt, pepper and poultry seasoning in a medium-sized bowl using your hands.
- Use the mixture to make six patties that measure about 1 inch thick.
- Next, fry the patties for between 3 and 4 minutes on each side, or until browned, in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When the patties are done, drain off the grease and place on a platter.
- Keep the patties warm while you complete the rest of the recipe.
- Next, melt the butter in the skillet you cooked the patties in, and then add the mushrooms and cook, while stirring for about 2 minutes.
- Sprinkle the flour on top of this, and then blend well.
- Then, add the milk and the beef bouillon and cook, while stirring, over medium heat until the gravy is smooth and has started to thicken.
- Put the patties in the gravy and cook uncovered over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
We have to say, this Salisbury steak sounds incredible! This will definitely make for one heck of a hearty meal, especially if you pair it with some equally hearty like savory mashed potatoes.
