Just the thought of this pot roast on a bed of mash potatoes with a side of cooked carrots or peas or broccoli … Mmm!

This is going to sound crazy but another pot roast slow cook recipe. Two cups of ketchup, 2 cups of tonic water (or seltzer water if you have to) and one package of lipton soup mix then add your meat, carrots cut small and I always par boil my potatoes and cook slow 7-8 hours, or high 4 hours — it sounds weird but the gravey is to die for.

Pam Bassett Hubert I’ve never tried stewed tomatoes with a Pot Roast. But when I had a kitchen and made swiss steak. I know I’ve had swiss steak that they didn’t use a tomatoes. Not sure what all was in the sauce but it was really good. Thanks for sharing that. Next time I’m going to give it a try.

Linda hope you like it. Funny I did one yesterday. Cut up some potatoes and through them in the last 2 hours. I was lazy. Everything came out good. 🙂

You should alway brown the roast on both sides in oil first & then put it in the crockpot.

Add a Tablespoon of steak sauce to the gravy mixture and you’ll be amazed at the flavor! I also put some balsamic vinegar in to help tenderize the meat
