If You’re Looking For New Kitchen Gadgets Then These Are The Only Ones Worth The Splurge!

Some kitchen tools are obvious like pots, pans, and silverware. Everyone usually has those. However, what about a mixer, quality knives and a decent slow cooker? These gadgets and more can really help to make cooking a breeze and will save you lots of time and maybe even some frustration. They are definitely worth the investment.

The Gadgets You Should Have In Your Kitchen Are:

Food processor
Price: $38.99-$197.13
If you have the space and budget, go for a larger food processor. They are great if you do a lot of large-format chopping, grinding, or even dough-making. Smaller food processors can’t handle the same volume, but are incredibly handy for salad dressings, small knife work, and pestos.

Price: $24.95
They sit flatly on your counter and often have rubber on the ends to grip the surface, which ensures safe cutting.

KitchenAid stand mixer
Price: $279.99
A stand mixer is a necessity for the frequent baker. The KitchenAid stand mixer is the appliance that put KitchenAid on the map. “Time after time the models from KitchenAid come out on top in Good Housekeeping Institute tests,” Sharon Franke from Good Housekeeping shared.

Chef's knife
Price: $100 and up
The knife is the most personal tool in the kitchen. There is no cutting corners here, you have to go out and hold a bunch of knives, simulate cutting, and then you will find your mate. A good starter Western is the Wusthof Ikon, and for Japanese, try the Misono. Remember, treat your knife with respect.

All-Clad nonstick sauté pans
Price: $149.93
Nonstick pans are easy to clean, often require less oil or butter, are perfect for eggs, and are an all-around great sauté tool. An All-Clad nonstick or two, and you will have a pan that can handle a high-heat stove or oven, is PFOA-free, works on an induction cooktop, and has a LIFETIME guarantee.

Vitamix blender
Price starting at: $428.99
Sure, other blenders can blend basic necessities, but can they cook soup? Or make fresh peanut butter in seconds? What makes the Vitamix such a standout is its super-powerful motor that the company guarantees will work for seven years.

OXO Good Grips tongs
Price: $12.95
This pair is roughly double the cost of its dinky equivalent but totally worth it. Tongs are your extended hands in the kitchen and are great for flipping meats and grabbing at any sort of larger objects in the oven or stove.

Le Creuset Dutch oven
Price: $319.95
If you are like the rest us and born sans Le Creuset, it’s time to start your own tradition. For braises, soups, pan-roasted meats, chilis, and so many other dishes, nothing does it better than a Le Creuset.

The heavy-duty enameled cast iron is perfect for searing, holds heat evenly and beautifully in the oven, is generally easy to clean, and will last you for life.

Salad spinner
Price: $29.95
In the off chance you venture out of your pre-washed world, you should definitely invest in a salad spinner. You can directly wash your greens in the bowl and then quickly and efficiently dry them with the spinner.

Sturdy oven mitts
Price: $13.12
Nothing makes you feel more like Betty Crocker than putting on oven mitts. Nothing makes you feel like cursing your mouth off more than burning yourself through those oven mitts.

Try Mastrad silicone mitts as they have the protection of silicone with the comfy and breathable liner of cotton and terry.

Peugeot pepper grinder
Price: $44.95
Having control over the exact grind on your freshly cracked pepper is the difference between the perfect cacio e pepe and an assault in your mouth. Le Peugeot is the industry-standard pepper grinder, and is famous for its two-stage pepper mechanism in which it first cracks then grinds peppercorns, resulting in the maximum release of aroma and flavor.
Slow cooker
Price: $99.99
A slow cooker can take on just about anything. While they are not a necessary kitchen tool, the one-pot, no-fuss features certainly have their appeal. Franke says, “The more expensive ones control the heat better.” And obviously, heat control is crucial.

Breville Smart Oven
Price: $249.95
While there are a number of decent inexpensive toasters in the $30-$60 range, if you want to take your toaster-oven game up a full notch, and cook your Sunday roast in it, get the Breville Smart Oven. “Breville Smart Ovens are worth the splurge,” says Sharon Franke from the Good Housekeeping Institute. “In addition to turning out perfect toast — rare for a ‘toaster oven,’ they can roast chickens and bake cakes and biscuits as well as a full-size oven in the same amount of time.”

I disagree with the Chef’s knife cost. There is no reason for the majority of people spending over $100 on a knife, they won’t take care of it and will be as worthless as the $30 knife in a few months of use in the average kitchen. One of the most neglected tools in the kitchen and is used most often.

Recommendation: Spend $50-$60 on a knife and then purchase a good book on the “how to use and care for a knife”
