Maple Pecan Sticky Buns…With A Twist!

Maple Pecan Sticky Buns…With A Twist!

Remember how we told you, in the beginning, there would be a twist? Well, while normally Pecan Maple Rolls would be delicious on their own there is one thing that we can put on top of them that gives them this salty-sweet feel that will satisfy any palate.

Extra ingredient:

  • 6 slices bacon, chopped

Oh yeah! Bacon! Sure, if you have a vegetarian or two in the family you can leave it off and it will still be fabulous but trust me- it adds a layer to the pastry that brings out its decadence.

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cook bacon in a medium pan over medium heat until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from pan to a paper towel-lined plate.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together the maple syrup, brown sugar, and pecans, then stir in the bacon and divide evenly among 10 muffin cups of a muffin tin.
  4. Sprinkle both sides of each biscuit with cinnamon, then place a sprinkled biscuit in each muffin cup on top of the bacon mixture. Press the biscuits in gently to fit inside.
  5. Bake until biscuits are golden brown and cooked through about 18-20 minutes. Take out of the oven and quickly flip onto a baking sheet. Allow to cool 5 minutes, then serve. Enjoy!
