It seems that most fridges now come with built-in ice makers. This of course eliminated the need for the ice cube trays we have all grown to love. I remember as a kid having a love/hate relationship with the ice cube trays. Sure they were fun to break apart once the ice was frozen, but filling them up and getting them back into the freezer without falling to my death by slipping on all the water I had spilled in the process, was quite a task!
Thankfully we now live in the age of the automatic icemaker!
So what do we do with all of those leftover icecube trays? We have all heard the same three typical tips that are splashed all over Pinterest and Facebook: frozen coffee cubes, broth or oil for cooking, and wine, but there are actually some tips that you may not have heard before that are just as genius as those that started out the trend. One thing I will recommend is invest in novelty ice cube trays! The examples shown here will all be the traditional versions but with novelty trays its adds a whole new layer of fun to this projct!
