This is a great dish as it is as versatile as it is delicious. I often make this as the main dish for breakfast as it is delicious and filling enough to stand on its own and other times I like to throw in some scrambled eggs for a heartier meal. I have also made it for Sunday Brunch, and it was a favorite among my mom group who all begged for this recipe after they were finished. Either way, it takes a favorite breakfast item, sausage, and kicks it up a notch
Ingredients
16 oz bulk sausage cooked and crumbled (any flavor)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
2 can(s) refrigerated crescent rolls
1 c shredded sharp cheddar cheese (or any cheese)Directions
Mix sausage and cream cheese together add shredded cheese if you’d like. (yes you want to do this step – trust me) Separate rolls into triangles. Cut each triangle in half (lengthwise). Scoop a heaping tablespoon onto each roll and roll up. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Adding a great cup of coffee or a large cold glass of orange juice along with it is also a good idea. One of my friends also took this recipe and used it as a biscuit and gravy kind of dish which I would never have thought of, but she said her family loved it.
No matter which way you decide to eat it, I'm sure you will enjoy it just as much as we have.
