Baking Some Fresh Cookies? Make Sure To Remember This Crucial Step Before Tossing Them In The Oven

This One Simple Mistake Can Completely Ruin Cookies!

We've all been there: We take out one cookie sheet from the oven and are pleased to see a nice hot batch of perfectly baked cookies. But the next batch doesn't turn out so well. In fact, they're flat and gooey or just come out like hot blobs of dough instead of crispy and tantalizing treats. We never could figure this one out, but we recently learned that it's a simple problem to fix.

However, We Do Have To Say That – There Is Nothing Wrong With Gooey, Chocolaty Cookies But Sometimes We Just Want Them To Be Crispy Instead Of Burning Them

As it turns out, the problem may simply be that the cookie sheet is still too warm. When cookies are placed on a hot cookie sheet that hasn't cooled down, the butter melts even before the cookies go in the oven because the sheet is still so hot. When this happens, the cookies don't bake the way they're supposed to, and can end up spreading out too much during the baking process, which can cause all sorts of problems.
