Beef Stroganoff

Beef Stroganoff

Don't worry about getting the exact ingredients. You can substitute anything that you want. Even though the dish is called Beef Stroganoff no one will be upset that you used Chicken.

Ingredients

1 (1-pound) top round steak (1 inch thick), trimmed
1 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried dill
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 (8-ounce) package sliced mushrooms (about 2 cups)
3 garlic cloves, minced
1.5 ounces all-purpose flour (about 1/3 cup)
1 cup fat-free, lower-sodium beef broth
1 (8-ounce) container low-fat sour cream
2 cups hot cooked medium egg noodles

Step By Step Instructions:

1. Cut steak diagonally across grain into 1/4-inch-thick slices. Place steak and ingredients in a 3-quart electric slow cooker.

2. Place flour in a small bowl; add broth, stirring with a whisk until blended.

3. Add broth mixture to slow cooker. Cover with lid.

4. Cook on high-heat setting 1 hour.

5. Reduce to low-heat setting and cook 8 hours or until steak is tender.

6. Turn slow cooker off; Stir in sour cream. Serve over noodles.

I love Beef Stroganoff and the flavors. This is a dish that you can mix together and put in your crock pot while at work; its easy tasty and will last a long time in the refrigerator.

~*~ Helpful Hint ~*~

If you don't have any type of noodles on hand then do not be afraid to enjoy this over a bed of Wild or Jasmine Rice.
