I simply love how easy this recipe is to make and that it's not something I would normally make. Often times we get stuck in a routine when it comes to making dinner. You have your go-to meals, and sometimes that can get a little boring. Step out of your comfort zone without worrying about what you signed up for.
Things You Will Need:
-
2 lbs boneless chicken breasts
-
1 -2 tablespoon olive oil
-
1 garlic clove
-
1⁄4 teaspoon ginger
-
3⁄4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
-
1⁄4 cup apple juice
-
1⁄3 cup brown sugar
-
2 tablespoons ketchup
-
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
-
1⁄2 cup water
-
1⁄3 cup soy sauce
How To Prepare:
- Heat oil in a skillet that is large enough to hold the bourbon chicken.
- Add chicken and lightly brown then you’re going to want to remove chicken and set aside until needed.
- Next, you’ll want to add your remaining ingredients to your skillet, and continue cooking over medium heat.
- Add your chicken back to the skillet and bring everything to a rapid boil.
- Reduce your heat and simmer the bourbon chicken for about 20 minutes.
Note: Serve over fluffy white rice and garnish with parsley or green herbs of your choice. It's not really for flavor, but more to add a pop of color to the dish. I like to use sliced green onions.
