Bourbon Chicken After A Long Day…It Doesn’t Get Any Better!

Bourbon Chicken After A Long Day…It Doesn’t Get Any Better!

I simply love how easy this recipe is to make and that it's not something I would normally make. Often times we get stuck in a routine when it comes to making dinner. You have your go-to meals, and sometimes that can get a little boring. Step out of your comfort zone without worrying about what you signed up for.

Things You Will Need:

  • 2 lbs boneless chicken breasts

  • 1 -2 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 garlic clove

  • 1⁄4 teaspoon ginger

  • 3⁄4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

  • 1⁄4 cup apple juice

  • 1⁄3 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar

  • 1⁄2 cup water

  • 1⁄3 cup soy sauce

How To Prepare:

  1. Heat oil in a skillet that is large enough to hold the bourbon chicken.
  2. Add chicken and lightly brown then you’re going to want to remove chicken and set aside until needed.
  3. Next, you’ll want to add your remaining ingredients to your skillet, and continue cooking over medium heat.
  4. Add your chicken back to the skillet and bring everything to a rapid boil.
  5. Reduce your heat and simmer the bourbon chicken for about 20 minutes.

Note: Serve over fluffy white rice and garnish with parsley or green herbs of your choice. It's not really for flavor, but more to add a pop of color to the dish. I like to use sliced green onions.
