This delicious Mongolian beef recipe only makes enough for about two servings so if you want plenty more to enjoy again the next day, you will just need to double the ingredients. If you don't prefer beef, this sauce would still taste amazing with chicken or even salmon. It only takes about thirty minutes to cook so you can start enjoying the incredible flavor in no time!
Let's Get Started…
The Ingredients To Gather:
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1 tablespoon garlic
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 pound flank steak
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 2 green onions
The Step By Step Directions To Follow:
- Heat oil over medium-low. Add ginger, garlic to pan, add soy sauce, water before garlic scorches. Dissolve brown sugar in sauce, raise heat to medium, boil sauce for 2 to 3 minutes or until sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
- Slice steak against grain into bite-size slices.
- Dip steak pieces into cornstarch to apply a thin dusting to both sides of each piece of beef. Let the beef sit for about 10 minutes so that cornstarch sticks.
- Heat oil in wok or skillet over medium until it's nice and hot, but not smoking. Add beef to oil, saute for two minutes, or until the beef just begins to darken on the edges. Stir meat around a little so that it cooks evenly.
- Take meat out and onto paper towels, pour oil out of wok or skillet. Put pan back over heat, dump meat back into it, simmer for one minute. Add sauce, cook for one minute while stirring, add green onions. Cook for one more minute, remove beef, onions to plate.
Enjoy!
