Classic Macaroni And Cheese Has Been Taken Up A Notch And These Additions Make It Incredible!

This recipe makes enough for about four to six servings but if you want plenty more, you can always double the ingredients. It only takes a few minutes to prepare and then about ten to fifteen minutes to bake. It will look so good, you won't want to wait to try it!

Let's Get Started!

The Ingredients To Gather Are:

1 pound organic whole wheat elbow pasta
½ pound bacon, chopped
2 garlic cloves
1 can white beans, drained and rinsed
1 jar  Pomodoro Fresco Spicy Arrabbiata pasta sauce
¼ cup finely grated parmesan cheese, plus more for topping
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
8 ounces provolone cheese
fresh basil and oregano leaves for topping

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

Preheat  oven to 375 degrees F. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil for the pasta and cook according to the directions.

While the pasta is cooking, heat an oven-safe skillet or pot over medium-low heat. Add the bacon and cook until it's completely crispy and the fat is rendered. Once crispy, remove almost all of the bacon grease from the skillet with a spoon (just set it aside in a bowl to save or firm up to throw away) and stir in the cooked pasta and white beans. Add the jar of spicy arrabbiata, stir. Stir in  parmesan cheese and a few fresh basil leaves. Top with the provolone cheese.

Bake for 10 – 15 minutes, until the cheese is melty and bubbly. Add extra parmesan and fresh herbs on top.

Enjoy!

This baked macaroni and cheese with white beans and bacon is so good, you may like it even more than the traditional version! Have you tried mac and cheese this way before?
