Classic Recipe: Beef Bourguignon With Fettuccine

Let's Get Started Making This Fantastic Pasta Dish…

The Ingredients To Gather: 

  • 12 oz. Fettuccine, uncooked
  • 1 pound fresh baby carrots
  • 1 10-oz. bag frozen pearl onions
  • 1 pound beef tenderloin tips or steaks, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 10 1/2-oz. can double-strength beef broth, undiluted
  • 1/3 cup dry red wine such as cabernet sauvignon
  • 1 1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
  • Chopped fresh thyme or Italian parsley (optional)

The Step By Step Directions To Follow: 

  1. Cook the paste the way the package says. Then add the carrots during the last 5 minutes of cook time.
  2. While that's going, thaw onions in the microwave on high for about 2 minutes or in a bowl of cool water then drain. Combine the flour, salt, and pepper in a bag.
  3. Add half of the beef.
  4. Shake to coat.
  5. Melt 1 tbsp of butter in a large, deep nonstick pan over med/high heat.
  6. Add the floured beef. Brown the beef quickly, turning only once, for about 2 minutes.
  7. Put on a plate and set to the side. Melt the rest of the butter in a pan and repeat the browning process with the rest of the beef. reserving any flour mix in the bag.
  8. Put the beef on the same plate.
  9. Add the garlic to the dripping in the pan.
  10. Cook about 2 minutes stirring occasionally.
  11. Add any flour that is left, and mix well.
  12. Next add the beef broth, thawed onions, thyme and wine to the pan and bring to a boil.
  13. Stir in beef and simmer uncovered for about 4 minutes or til beef is pink the center and the sauce as slightly thickened.
  14. Drain the pasta and carrots and arrange in shallow soup bowls.
  15. Toss the pasta with the beef mix, top with fresh thyme and/or parsley if desired!

Finished!

There you have it! Add a salad and a dinner roll and you are set to eat a great tasting meal! Eat up and do nothing more than enjoy!
