Crispy Chicken Thighs in the Slow Cooker? Yes, It’s Possible!

We've Been Cooking Our Chicken Thighs All Wrong…

When you hear the term “slow cooker,” you probably don't think “crispy.” We certainly don't! After all, the slow cooker is traditionally used to make rich, hearty meals such as soups and stews, and maybe a casserole. We've always believed that to get something crispy, you had to cook it in the oven or in a skillet on the stovetop, and that's certainly what conventional cooking wisdom said.

However, we recently discovered a method for making super-crispy chicken thighs in, that's right…the slow cooker! We had no idea that was even possible, but this method changes everything. We're a huge fan of our slow cooker and we like to use it as much as possible, so we were thrilled to discover yet another recipe we could use it for. Plus, this version is incredibly savory, thanks to the salt, paprika, garlic powder and onion powder. Yum!
