Dunkin Donuts Is Cutting 50% Of Its Menu & People Are Not Happy

Dunkin Donuts Is Cutting 50% Of Its Menu & People Are Not Happy

Just as we moved past the insane notion of Dunkin Donuts trying to drop the Donuts from their brand name they throw this at us!

The powers that be at the Dunkin Donuts corporate offices offer this explanation for their thought processes:

“While we remain the number one retailer of donuts in the country, as part of our efforts to reinforce that Dunkin' Donuts is a beverage-led brand and coffee leader, we will be testing signage in a few locations that refer to the brand simply as ‘Dunkin',” the company told CNBC. Starting at the end of October, we will see the donut menu shrink at some of the stores. “We’ve shrunk the amount of donut variety and we’re seeing a lift in those markets instantly,”

The decision to reduce the menu size from 30 flavors to 18 was made for the company to streamline its offerings.

While from a business standpoint I understand what they are trying to do but consumers all over every market are not happy with their decisions. The cutbacks are currently only taking place at 1,000 test locations nationwide.

“The test locations will offer a minimum of 18 core donuts with the opportunity to expand based on consumer feedback and regional preferences,” the spokesperson said. “We believe this approach will provide a more consistent experience from store to store, and in some cases, will actually increase both the variety and quantity of donuts available to our guests. We will assess the results of the test before making any determination about a possible national rollout.”
I just hope they don't touch my Boston Cream!

Their donuts are dry and they don’t put much filling in them. Weis grocery has the best donuts. They are so fresh and overloaded with filling.

We have one DD in our area. Even at 11am, they are out of a lot of donuts. Prices are horrific….$5 for a not very good grilled cheese sandwich? They are not the DD as when I was young

Dunkin Donuts may as well close their doors! Their products aren’t at all what it used to be! And their prices are outrageous! It’s a shame! I used to like them. Now I wouldn’t walk across the street for them. Sad really!

Used to be 52 varieties, now there’s about 10 and they aren’t as good as they used to be. Seems like their coffee took over the business

Bagels are doughy and there aren’t any jelly packets for bagels. Bacon is paper thin, cheap with flavored cream cheese.
