Egg Salad Just Like Grandma Used To Make

Egg Salad Just Like Grandma Used To Make

I don't know what it is about egg salad but it always reminds me of my grandmother. She loved it and it was one of the first things that she taught me how to “cook.” And as you will see later in this article it really doesn't take much to create! There comes a time in life when you want to create that special food for your loved ones to remember. You want them to remember the moment, the feeling, the excitement and the love! Remember when you were a small girl spending time with your beloved Grandmother, Grandma, Granny or Nana? Remember the fond memories you shared with her? Do you also have a special time during your years of growing up that you cherish and remember that special food that only she could make just right and just for you?

When I was a young girl as far back as I can remember. I could always look forward to my Granny’s Old Fashion Egg Salad Sandwiches. I would be visiting her for the weekend and we would have so much fun cooking, baking and creating fun foods. She would smile that special smile and ask me if I wanted my favorite sandwich for lunch? Of course, I jumped up and down delighted to say yes!

So let's take a look at what it took to create such fond memories!

My egg salad is relatively simple: 4 soft boiled eggs mashed up with a fork, mayonnaise, a dab of mustard, minced onions, garlic powder…done and it’s yummo.

I use green olives in mine instead of pickles, I add a little horseradish and spicy mustard with they mayo, with onions and celery. I chop eggs very small, hate big chunks of egg white, and I add only enough mayo to bind together, not make it wet and sloppy

I like green olives (sliced) in my egg salad. Learned from my mom, Egg and Olive!
