The next time you are in the mood for making fried chicken, you definitely need to give this repine a try! I absolutely love the spice blend combo. It gives it the perfect balance of flavor and pairs really nicely with the chicken. You might want to make a double batch, because this meal is going to be one the whole family will want seconds of. Enjoy!
Let's Get Started…
Things You Will Need:
-
1 quart buttermilk
-
3 1/2 pound chicken parts (bone-in, skin-on; if using breasts, halve)
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
1 tablespoon paprika
-
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
2 teaspoons kosher salt
-
Freshly ground pepper
-
Peanut oil, for frying
How To Prepare:
- Start off by marinading your chicken in a buttermilk bath over night. A plastic bag will work pretty well.
- The next day, your going to put all of your spices mixed with flour in a plastic bag. Your going to place your chicken in the bag and shake until the chicken is fully coated in your flour mixture. Be sure to remove any excess flour.
- Heat a skillet and pour peanut oil into the pan. You're going to heat the oil until it reaches 350 degrees. Turn your temperature to a medium setting and add a couple pieces of chicken at a time to the hot oil to fry. Cook until your chicken is nice and crispy, showing a beautiful golden brown. The internal temperature should read 165 degrees.
- Drain excess oil from chicken by resting chicken on paper towels for a couple of minutes before serving.
Finished!
Note: This fried chicken is absolutely delicious. We suggest serving with buttered corn on the cob and mashed potatoes. Try adding a touch of truffle oil to your mashed potatoes to take them to the next level.
Enjoy!
