When we think of food recalls, most of us think of perishable items such as meat, especially since that's a type of food that carries bacteria and is prone to contamination if not handled, processed and cooked properly. In recent years there's also been a spate of produce-related recalls, which took many of us by surprise. After all, fruits and veggies are about as safe as you can get, right?

Well, add another shocker to the list, because now General Mills is conducting a massive recall of Betty Crocker cake mixes because of…and you'll never believe this…flour, of all things! That's right, Wondra flour was noted in a recall at the beginning of July, and that just happens to be the very flour that General Mills used for some of its Betty Crocker cake mix flavors!
