Copycat Recipe: KFC Biscuits

There is nothing better than a Fast-Food Hacked recipe. This has to be my favorite recipe for biscuts because there are so many different ways you can eat them.

This Is Truly A Treat!

The Ingredients To Gather:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • 4 teaspoons Butter Flavor Crisco
  • 1 cup buttermilk

The Step-By-Step Directions To Follow:

  1. PREHEAT oven to 400°F; COMBINE flour, salt, sugar, baking powder and baking soda.
  2. STIR in 1 cup buttermilk just until a soft dough forms.
  3. DIVIDE dough in half; GENTLY pat or roll each half into an 8-inch circle 1/2-inch thick.
  4. CUT out biscuits.
  5. BRUSH tops of the biscuits with whole milk.
  6. BAKE for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.

    You need to update the instructions! After step one which is combining the dry ingredients together, step two should be to cut in both shortenings (using a pastry cutter or two butter knives) until all is incoporated and in small pea-sized chunks. Step three is add the buttermilk, stir only until a soft dough forms – do not over mix!

    You put the shortening in with the flour salt and baking soda and then you mix it up but I use 2 tablespoons butter to 2 cups of flour a teaspoon of baking soda half a teaspoon of salt and use one cup of milk mix it up and if it’s running at a little bit more flour to it roll it out and there you go
