What Are Those Weird White Strings Inside A Raw Egg?
Okay so…. are we supposed to toss out the egg if we see these white strings or not? This is an age old debate… my grandmother used to say they where good for you yet my mother who was a Executive Chef said that they are poison and made the egg taste bad.
It Doesn't Matter Where You Bought The Eggs From; These White Strings Are Super Common.
It's super confusing what you are supposed to do when you see one of these and it upsets me to toss out the egg, especially if it was $6.00 for a dozen. I only get cage free, vegetarian fed, organic eggs and I still see these little white strings in my eggs in the morning when I am trying to start the day right.
Finally, after pondering if they are good to eat or not, it seems like they come from a wide range of different chickens, we found the answer and it is very interesting to find out what they actually are and if… they are supposed to be consumed.
