How To Make A Delicious Blooming Onion

Make sure that you do not dunk your blooming onion into the mixture directly. Place it face-up and sprinkle the flour mixture on top and in the crevices. You want all of your onion to be evenly coated in the mixture.

Helpful Hint:

Do not coat the onion too thick. Your final product will be crisp and crunchy when finished. If you coat the onion too thick then your Blooming Onion will be soft and not cook though.

Step 2

In a large bowl mix together the flour, cayenne, oregano, garlic salt, cummin and pepper. Place the onion cut side down into the flour, place a plate over the top of the bowl and give it a few shakes. Flip the onion over and make sure flour gets in between each of the petals. In another large bowl whisk together the eggs and milk. Dunk the onion, cut side down, into egg mixture. Flip over and take care to get the egg mixture in between each petal.

Now that your Blooming Onion is coated you are now ready to fry it up. Steps 3 & 4 on the last page will help you cook it up and serve
