Like Good Old Fashioned Smoked Ribs With The Perfect Rub Then Make This Southern Version

These incredible smoked spare ribs are a perfect for a party or family get together. You can leave out the curry powder if you don't prefer the spiciness and flavor. You can use any other spice that you do love. These spare ribs take a while because they have to smoke for about four hours but the delicious smell is sure to make your mouth water!

Let's Get Started!

The Ingredients To Gather:

  • Two racks of pork spare ribs
  • Half gallon of apple juice
  • One cup of kosher salt
  • One cup of brown sugar
  • One tablespoon of maple syrup
  • One cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of paprika
  • One tablespoon of onion powder
  • One tablespoon of garlic powder
  • One tablespoon of kosher salt
  • One tablespoon of white sugar
  • One tablespoon of ground mustard
  • 1/2 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon of chili powder
  • One teaspoon of curry powder
  • One teaspoon of cinnamon

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. Brine ribs overnight. Remove from brine, pat dry.
  2. Apply rub.
  3. Let sit 30 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Heat smoker to 220°F.
  5. Smoke ribs until they reach an internal temperature of 170°F four hours.
  6. Spray with apple juice every hour.
  7. Heat smoker to 250°F.
  8. Finish ribs to an internal temperature of 190°F to 200°F.
  9. Remove ribs.
  10. Cool 30 minutes.

    Love ribs—I don’t have a smoker–can they be baked in the oven? If so, at what temp?
