This Soup Is Warm, Hearty & Full Of Flavor. If You Are Looking For A Traditional French Onion Soup Recipe Then This Is It!
French Onion Soup always seems to be a staple at fine steak and seafood restaurants. Even though it originated in France, we have embraced it here in America as much, if not more, than the Statue of Liberty.
It is relatively easy to make and the key to having the best taste is in both the caramelizing, not burning, of the onions and the addition of beef stock. Note: You can use chicken stock, but the beef stock really gives this soup a rich flavor.
Another item worth mentioning to help guarantee perfection is to take the time to thinly slice the onions so they can cook evenly. We recommend using a mandoline slicer if you have one on hand.
