Yep, I am single parent, broke and my kids change there minds about what they like to eat more then anything else. I am not a creative cook so I do to freeze, thaw and sometimes refreeze meats. Then of course hey complain and it goes to waste, thank you fast food for not giving me any healthy options that I can afford!

Do you have any idea how much meat you’ve purchased over the years from your local grocery store that came in frozen and then was thawed out and put out for sale in the meat case? Then you take it home and put it in your freezer, right? Typically anything prepackaged (sausages, chicken, hamburger(s), fish, shrimp) comes in frozen and anything that doesn’t sell real well (liver, tripe, heart).

Kudos to you! My father was a single parent to 4 of us and honestly I have so much respect for him doing what my mother didn’t. Real men step up and your kids won’t forget it.

I did the cook now and freeze idea. I don’t know how my two kids for so picky but, they are funny about left over or refrozen foods. I guess it’s because I’m a restaurant manager and at one time in our lives, not so long ago, we always had fresh cooked meals. The adjustment has been and is the battle of my life and there’s right now. Just venting I guess, I feel the pressure right now BIG TIME, and it’s getting the best of me.

It’s best if you break it down and freeze it in portions so you won’t have to re-freeze!!

If I have to refreeze, I will put it in a Ziploc with marinade. Keeps it moist and flavorful.Italian dressing works well.

If it is still partially frozen I will referee. If completely thawed I cook it and then freeze- no one knows the difference if you don’t tell them!’n

I never refreeze raw meat. EX: Freezer went out, I cooked everything that was in there. Then I refroze what I could after it was cooked. Such as, hamburger, turkey, chicken. and pork.

When you buy meat at a grocery store 9 out of 10 times it was already frozen before it hit the shelf. What do we do, take it home and refreeze it. I’ve already taken meat out of freezer and thawed it out and refroze it. I didn’t taste any difference and it didn’t spoil. Have been doing it for many tears and I’m here typing this message top you and I’m 67.

So long as it is not spoiled no problem!! When a store has meat like ribs on sell I ask them to give me some from the back that are still frozen then home and back in the freezer. Anyone who is worried cook the meat then freeze.

I’ve always had the rule that if you don’t like what I’m cooking for dinner, you’re allowed to make yourself a sandwich and a glass of milk or water. That’s it. My youngest is super picky and I’m not a short-order cook. He’s 13 and he’s been making his own sandwiches since he was 3. Put your foot down and you’d be amazed at how quickly they become un-picky.

I always read the comments first to see if the post is worth going to. This particular site does nothing but tell you that you are going to die from anything you eat or store or do.

Of course it’s okay. Why wouldn’t it be? If it’s not rotten before you refreeze it it’ll be just fine. I never bought into that myth.

No matter what meat you buy at the store is already thawed as they get it frozen in big boxes! Then you refreeze! So no it won’t hurt you. I worked in a grocery store. Only thing that isn’t frozen is sides of hanging beef! At least at the store I worked at.

I didn’t open this but of course you can as long as it is not spoiled already. Not to mention you can use things LONG past the date stamped as long as it is not spoiled. People waste enough foor in America to feed the hungry of the world.
