It Might Look Like Much But This Brown Sauce Is All You Need For A Great Meal!

Here's everything you need for this incredibly tasty and versatile brown stir-fry sauce. For a vegetarian version, substitute vegetable broth for the chicken broth.

Let's Get Started… 

Ingredients To Gather:

  • 2⁄3 cup soy sauce
  • 1⁄2 cup chicken broth
  • 1⁄3 cup rice wine
  • 3 1⁄2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1⁄4 cup water

Directions To Follow: 

Start by mixing the soy sauce, broth, rice wine, sugar, sesame oil and white pepper together in a bowl, and then dissolving the cornstarch in 1/4 cup of water. Next, take a pan and heat it over high heat and then add cooking oil, swirling it around to ensure the bottom of the pan is completely coated. Add the garlic and ginger and then cook, stirring constantly, about 15 minutes or until the mixture is fragrant. Add the soy sauce mixture you made earlier, bring the entire thing to a boil, and then lower the heat to medium and cook for another minute. Add the dissolved cornstarch and continue cooking, while stirring constantly, until the sauce is boiling and it begins to thicken.
