As is normal with this website, the picture is not the result of the recipe. This piece of meat was cooked on a fire to get the charring shown in the picture. Slow cooker will tenderize the meat but it won’t look like this. Perhaps a cast iron dutch oven, searing the brisket strongly and then slow cooking in the oven for hours might get closer but the flavor won’t be the same.
My son-in-law has a big smoker and yes they are better on the smoker, he does ribs, chicken, brisket, and anything else he can throw on there but I would still be willing to try this in the crockpot,,, might be good,,,,,man everybody gets too mental about their pit and smokers and grills,,, I live in Bama we know good BBQ,,,,,,,
Pissed me off when you try to open the recipe and you get advertisements

Yummy
it would be nice if it didn;t cost 10.00 dollars a pound !!
A Crockpot does not make BBQ. No smoke, no BBQ.
Definitely have to try this one.
OMG people! Quit sqwaking! It’s slow-cooked brisket. It looks good. I’d make it. Sheesh!
That is fine. But it isn’t BBQ

some people never quit, do they? This is not worth squabbling about.
Nancy Kendall Kruse then why do you continue when according to other comments and the likes I have confirm my point of view.
Craig u can make this when you go camping with us this year !!!
Who can afford brisket???
It looks like a homicide scene.
Why push. Not bbq but good .
I made a factual statement. Your the ones pushing. You just pushed it again.
“Make your to guess smack your eyes out with flavor”???!!! Really????!!!!
Texas BBQ, the way you describe it. There are many kinds…. I do not like Texas barbeque. But I like brisket cooked in a slow cooker with home!age sweet sauce. Can’t beat it. You can be a Texas BBQ snob all you want, but TX BBQ sucks.
I am not a Texas BBQ snob. But real BBQ is Real BBQ. Brisket does not render down properly in a slow cooker. And you certainly can not fit a 12-17 lb. brisket in one. Lol
Tomas Abbeyta next slow cooker meal!
Pepper Gloria can u make yours look like that
Better
David Reynolds who the hell cares?
