Make This Spicy General Tso’s Chicken At Home! I Was Surprised How Simple It Is…

Make sure that you make a large batch of rice and break out the chop sticks for this dish. Spicy General TSO Chicken is kind of like Orange Chicken but the sauce is way different. You can spice things up a bit and add more red peppers if you want. Don't forget to bring the Soy Sauce to the dinner table!!!

The Ingredients To Gather:

  • 1 cup chicken stock

  • 7 tbsp. cornstarch

  • 6 tbsp. rice vinegar

  • 6 tbsp. tomato paste

  • 5 tbsp. light soy sauce

  • 4 1⁄2 tsp. dark soy sauce

  • 2 1⁄4 lb. boneless, skinless chicken thighs

  • 3 1⁄2 cups plus 9 tbsp. peanut oil

  • 3 egg yolks

  • 2 tbsp. minced ginger

  • 2 tbsp. minced garlic

  • 16 chiles de árbol

  • 2 tsp. toasted sesame oil

  • Thinly sliced scallions, to garnish

The Step By Step Instructions To Follow:

1. In a large bowl whisk the Chicken Stock, 1 tbsp. cornstarch, vinegar, tomato paste, 3 tbsp. light soy sauce, 1 tbsp. dark soy sauce and 3 tablespoons of water together.
2. Make sure that there is no lumps or bumps and the sauce is smooth.
3. Place the remaining yellow cornstarch and both of the tangy soy sauces, uncooked chicken, 3 tbsp. peanut oil and Organic egg yolks in a bowl.
4. Toss everything together so that it is evenly coated.
5. Next you are going to pour 3 1⁄2 cups peanut oil in a 14″ flat-bottomed wok or a skillet that is rather large over some high heat.
6. Add the Organic ginger, Fresh garlic and those spicy red chiles. Add the reserved tangy sauce; cook until slightly reduced, about 5-7 minutes.
7. Add the uncooked chicken. Remove from heat; stir in that sesame oil.
8. Transfer to a serving plate; top with scallions and make sure to grab some chop sticks!

 Finished!
