Meet The 17-Year Old Prodigy Chef Who Is Opening His First Restaurant In The Heart Of New York

There Is A Lot Of Hype About This Place…

We think it's great when kids are interested in cooking. After all, it's an important life skill that really makes everything so much easier. When you can't cook, you're forced to rely on TV dinners or you have to eat out or order takeout any time you're hungry. If you can cook, however, you can whip up a meal or snack in no time. Plus, cooking at home is far cheaper than dining out.

The renowned chef in this story, however, started cooking when he was just 10 years old and graced the cover of the New York Times magazine at age 15. Now, at 17 Flynn McGarry is opening his first restaurant in New York City's pricey, trendy and exclusive Meatpacking District.

This is no corner diner, however. Instead, it's a hip, eight-seat tasting menu counter that serves 16 courses for $160. Wow! We can't imagine paying that much for just one meal, but McGarry's reputation as a top-notch chef suggests that a meal cooked by him is worth every penny!
