Here's everything you need for these rich and tender slow cooker barbecue ribs. You need twenty minutes of prep time and nine hours of cooking time for this recipe that makes four servings.

Let's Get Started… 

Ingredients To Gather:

  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 1/2 lb pork loin back ribs
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup cola carbonated beverage
  • 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce

Directions To Follow:

  1. Spray inside of 4- to 5-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
  2. Mix brown sugar, salt and pepper; rub mixture onto ribs, coating both sides.
  3. Cut ribs into 8 sections, about 3 ribs each.
  4. Layer ribs and onion in slow cooker.
  5. Pour cola over ribs. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 9 hours or until tender. Remove ribs from slow cooker. Discard liquid and onion slices.

Next, set the oven to broil and spray the broiler pan with cooking spray. Pour the BBQ sauce into a small, shallow bowl, and then dip the ribs in the sauce so that they're coated on both sides.

Place the meat on the broiler pan with the rib side down, and then broil for between 3 and 4 minutes, or until just until the sauce sets.

The tops of the ribs should be positioned 3 inches away from the heat. Turn the ribs and broil for another 3 to 5 minutes, or just until the sauce carmelizes. Serve with the rest of the BBQ sauce.
