This Shrimp Scampi Dish Is As Italian As You Can Get… And It’s Made From Scratch

Life is always good with a tummy filled with a warm pasta/shrimp dish and this recipe is no exception!

Check out the following ingredients and just imagine the possibilities!

  • 5 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 lb. medium shrimp, peeled, de-veined, tails attached
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1⁄4 tsp. crushed red chile flakes
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 1⁄2 cup white wine
  • 1⁄4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. lemon zest
  • 1 lb. thin spaghetti, cooked
  • 1⁄4 cup roughly chopped parsley

The ingredients alone are absolutely tantalizing!

Here Are The Simple Step-By-Step Instructions On How To Make Your Shrimp Scampy.

1. Mix all of the ingredients in the bowl. (Including The Shrimp).

2. Boil your pasta separate until it's as tender as you want. Drain. Set aside for later use. I always coa with 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil to prevent it from sticking.

3. In a large skillet, fry your butter and garlic together for about one minute or until lightly browned. You want to have the entire pan coated in the butter garlic mixture.

4. Toss your Shrimp and seasonings together. Do not add the 1/2 cup of white wine just yet.

5. Stir everything up for about three minutes. You will see the shrimp start to turn pink, this is an indication it is cooking.

6. Pour your white wine on top and simmer until it has evaporated; about another three minutes.

7. Remove from heat and toss in Spaghetti mixture, stir until evenly coated.

8. Enjoy.

It is positively mouth-watering and when they sample it, your friends will not be able to tell the difference between you and a professional Italian chef!

I prefer pasta drained but no Italian cooks would set it aside with olive oil. Reserving some starchy water is added to sauces. Sounds good but not as Italian as you can get & not completely from scratch. Pasta is boxed.

It is the way I make it, but I use a little clam juice, it is so good.
