Smothered, Covered & Baked Twice In The Oven… Now That’s How You’re Supposed To Have Mashers!

This recipe is so not complicated, you'll think it was easy as pie to make. This Beef Pie offers familiar flavors in an unconventional profile.

Let's Get Started…

Things You Will Need:

  • 1 lb lean ground beed

  • 1/4 cup chopped onion

  • 1/4 cup Progresso plain bread crumbs

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried sage leaves

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 egg

  • mashed potatoes

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh tomato

  • 2 slices cooked bacon, chopped

  • 2 medium green onions, chopped

How To Prepare:

  1. Preheat your over to around 350 degrees for this recipe.
  2. Mix together your ground beef, onion, bread crumbs, sage, salt and egg. Smash into a glass baking dish, then spread your mashed potatoes evenly over meat mixture and top with cheese.
  3. Place your dish in the oven and bake uncovered for about 50 minutes, or until it looks like you meat is thoroughly cooked. The internal temp should reach 160 degrees.
  4. Place your desired toppings on before serving; tomato, bacon and green onions.

Finished!

Note: In a rush? Instead of making your favorite mashed potatoes by hand, you can use a Betty Crocker mashed potato pouch to speed up the process of the recipe. Personally, if you have the time, don't skimp.

Enjoy!
