Summertime Anytime: Get a Taste of Warm Weather By Adding Winter Citrus to Your Recipes!

Many of us think of citrus as primarily a spring and summer treat. After all, what's more refreshing than biting into a nice juicy orange or drinking a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice on a sweltering summer day? However, citrus is great any time of year, especially if you choose winter citrus. There's a lot more citrus available during cold weather than there are vegetables, so your choices aren't nearly as limited just because the temperatures have plummeted.

You can still enjoy the citrus you savor other times of the year, such as lemons and limes, but also add tangerines, grapefruit, blood oranges and many others. Plus, the recipes you can add winter citrus to are virtually limitless! Consider adding blood oranges to a cake, or roasting oranges along with carrots.
