Special K is just one of many companies turning to trendy pumpkin spice to liven up its breakfast offerings. And this isn't even the first the company has ventured into pumpkin spice territory:
After releasing Apple Cinnamon Crunch last year, Special K is making the leap into full fall territory, launching Pumpkin Spice Crunch. The cereal features a blend of rice and wheat flakes, all covered with a mix of nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice and ginger. (Don't worry, Apple Cinnamon Crunch fans—that flavor's coming back too.)
Several other companies are introducing pumpkin spice flavored breakfast foods, including everyone's favorite, Pop-Tarts:
Rounding out the array of breakfasts-gone-harvest-chic is Pop-Tarts. The brand has already dabbled in a pumpkin pie variety—which has been so popular it's coming back to stores this year—and now it's expanding into a pastry so decadent it's a better fit for dessert than as a way to start the day: Caramel Apple Pop-Tarts. Each one will have a caramel-apple filling and a sugary frosting with a bright green squiggly stripe down the center.
Wow! We can't wait to try some of these pumpkin spice breakfast foods. They all sound amazing and delicious, and they certainly enhance the crisp, brisk fall atmosphere!
