Salisbury Steak is one of those dishes that we grew up loving! It's rich in flavor and hearty for any time of the year. I remember there was a time when we would have this dish at least once a week. It was our go-to dish for Monday night. The smells of garlic, bacon, mushrooms, and onion would fill our home. The smell of good old fashioned home cooking is something that I will always remember.
So let's take a look at everything you will need in order to prepare this amazing dish for your family.
Ingredients
3 tsp olive oil (divided)
1/2 sweet yellow onion, diced
8 oz of button or cremini mushrooms, sliced
1 lb of lean ground beef
Bulb of roasted garlic (see below for recipe)
2 pieces of bacon, crumbled
Snider’s Prime Rib seasoning (or your favorite steak seasoning), to taste
Sea salt and fresh cracked pepper, to taste
1-2 packets of brown gravy mix, prepared per instructions
This dish is an all American classic. When I taste this I think of small-town diners and family dinners. It's one of those meals that brings with it a flood of good memories. So let's take a look at how to put this all together.
