The Apple Butter Sauce On These Tender Baby Back Ribs Was The Best Thing We Grilled All Summer!

This is a great time to try something new instead of eating regular ole ribs with barbecue sauce. Not to knock the classics, but food should evolve in flavor as time goes on, and it's time to unveil the instructions to enjoy your ribs in a whole new way.

Ingredients To Gather:

4 large Granny Smith apples, cored and cut into pieces
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup light brown sugar, divided
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1-1/2 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 slices bacon
1 onion, finely diced
2 garlic cloves
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup molasses
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon mustard
2 cups water

Directions To Follow:

Toss the apples with the lemon juice, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, allspice, thyme, bay leaf and salt.
Heat the apples over “medium” heat until the liquid starts to simmer, and then adjust to “low.”
Let the apples cook for 60 minutes to 90 minutes.
